Raffle for a Good Cause

Software consultant, author and SD Faculty Member Norm Kerth suffered a brain injury in an automobile accident in 1999. Since then he has been disabled, unable to work in the software field to which he has contributed so much over the decades. Norm is widely known for his contributions to the OO world, the design patterns movement, and the application of project retrospectives, and also for his selfless mentoring of software professionals worldwide. He is in a precarious financial position; unable even to afford all the medical care and rehabilitation he needs to get better. SD West is hosting a book raffle with all proceeds going to Norm Kerth and his family. SD will be raffling books nominated for the 17th Annual Jolt awards and other donated tomes.
Raffle Tickets are $2.00 each. Each raffle ticket is eligible to win one of the books. The drawing will be held directly after the Developer Bowl. Visit the Raffle Booth on the 1st Floor of the convention center to see a list of books and buy your raffle ticket.

customers really want. This is harder than it sounds, however. Customers don't
always know what they want, and because they don't know, they can't tell you.
Luke Hohmann, author and founder of Enthiosys, created the Innovation Games
to help teams better understand their customer’s desires. Join us as we
learn by doing, putting the Innovation Games in practice to improve SD West,
and take a valuable requirements gathering skill back to your office.
